Seventh Grade Interim Trip

Seventh Grade Interim Trip, 2025

Cleveland, Ohio

Wednesday, September 17 - Arrive to school by 7:30 a.m.
to Friday, September 19 - Pickup by 5:00 p.m.
Cleveland — another midwestern, entrepreneurial city similar to and yet different from Detroit (which we’ll also visit this year!), where industry, water, music, revitalization, (sub)urbanization, and conservation are all interconnected! We’ll explore how another industrial city emerged upon the banks of a river and lake; how it used — and arguably misused — water as a resource; how its legacy in rock & roll is similar to Detroit’s in Motown, and we’ll review who is represented in Hall of Fame and who is not (yet). On our riverboat cruise, we’ll look at how the shoreline has developed in Cleveland and gaze upon historical architecture – and we’ll compare it during our end-of-year cruise down the Detroit River, along the banks of two different countries. These are among the different ideas and questions that we’ll explore on this trip to Cleveland, a nearby city many of our students have not visited.

And, of course, we’ll have fun — spending time with and getting to know our classmates and teachers. We’ll enjoy meals together, play games and enjoy iconic destinations in Cleveland. See below for more highlights, and return here soon for updated information!
