Visiting Cranbrook

List of 1 items.

  • Visit the Cranbrook Campus!

We cordially invite our Cranbrook Warrior Lax Jam guests to visit the world-renowned attractions on the Cranbrook campus. Cranbrook is proud to be featured on Curbed's National Architecture Tour as a "must-see stop" in Michigan! Please mention at all locations that you are a Lax Jam guest.

Cranbrook Institute of Science is regarded as Michigan's premier natural history museum.  Children of all ages will enjoy learning about scientific concepts that encourage investigation. Mention you are a guest of the Cranbrook Lax Jam and receive free general admission (please note that astronomy and laser shows are not included).  Museum Hours: Tuesday-Thursday 10 am-5 pm, Friday/Saturday 10 am-10 pm, Sunday noon-4 pm.

Cranbrook House and Gardens is the former estate of Cranbrook’s founders, George and Ellen Booth. Enjoy FREE admission to all 40 acres of the gardens - featuring extensive plantings, fountains, statuary, lakes and streams - from spring through fall, courtesy of PNC Bank, All Seasons Independent Living, Neighborhood SEEN, and Roberts Restaurant Group. Stroll through the Sunken Garden, discover a garden folly on The Mountain, and take a moment to unwind by the Reflecting Pool. The gardens are open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Return to Cranbrook later this summer for a guided tour of Cranbrook House, an Arts & Crafts-style masterpiece designed by Albert Kahn. Inside the 1908 English-Tudor manor, docents will take you back in time to a golden era of craftsmanship, where you’ll discover handcrafted furniture, tapestries, tiles, stained glass, and other works of art. For a complete tour schedule and more information, visit http://housegardens.cranbrook.edu.

Cranbrook Art Museum is one of the first contemporary art museums in the United States, and the 1942 building is considered Eliel Saarinen’s final masterwork at Cranbrook. Today, they present original exhibitions and educational programming on modern and contemporary architecture, art, crafts, and design, as well as traveling exhibitions, films, workshops and lectures. Open from 11am-5pm on June 2nd and June 3rd. Mention you are a guest of the Cranbrook Lax Jam and receive free admission. For more information, visit www.cranbrookartmuseum.org.
