This is what Sixty looks like...
The Race to Sixty was created to honor 60 years of Horizons Upward Bound by inviting alumni from every era to step back in and give forward. Six decades came together around one shared goal, raising $60,000 per decade to invest in the next generation of HUB students.
The Diamond Decade, our 1965 to 1974 alumni, led the way. Through steady outreach, personal giving, and a deep connection to HUB, they raised an incredible $188,000. Every gift reflected gratitude for a program that opened doors, shaped lives, and created opportunities that still reach forward today.
Their leadership sparked momentum across the alumni community. Decade by decade, HUB alums answered the call, and together they raised more than $300,000 in support of the 60th Anniversary. The collective effort showed how powerful it is when people who once benefited from HUB choose to reinvest in what it made possible.
That alumni support became a driving force behind the full campaign. With 6 Decade Deputies and partners alongside them, the 60th Anniversary Campaign surpassed $1,000,000 in total giving, securing long term resources to support Detroit students for years to come. Special thanks to our Decade Deputies who contributed $60k or more toward the campaign.

The Legacy Lounge brought alumni, partners, and friends together to celebrate 60 years of HUB and the people who continue to move its mission forward. The energy from that night helped drive support for the Race to Sixty and the HUB Comprehensive Endowment, turning celebration into lasting impact.
The Diamond Decade helped anchor that success and set the tone for what alumni leadership can look like.
