Kindergarten in the Garden!

Cranbrook House and Gardens Auxiliary had a little extra help planting annuals in the sunken garden this year. Senior Kindergarteners, armed with watering cans, walked from Brookside to work alongside volunteers. The children first looked at the garden design from a birds-eye view and viewed designer plans. Knowing that the flowers need space, sunlight, soil, and water to grow, the kindergarteners enthusiastically jumped right in. Auxiliary members invited Cranbrook’s young students to return and continue to tend to the garden and observe the growth.  Children learned about plants and growth as well as the importance of community and caring for Cranbrook.
