CK Fans Celebrate New Projects Featuring Renée Elise Goldsberry ’89

It has been a remarkable fall for Cranbrook Kingswood alumna Renée Elise Goldsberry ’89, as alumni and school leaders flocked to theatres to support her newest artistic milestones.

On September 30, Renée’s much-anticipated documentary Satisfied premiered nationwide in a special three-day theatrical event. The film traces her journey from Cranbrook to the Broadway stage and beyond, spotlighting her Tony- and Grammy Award-winning role as Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton alongside her deeply personal story of balancing career and family. It was exciting to see footage of performances on the Cranbrook stage.  It was moving to see a heartfelt conversation with CK mentor the late Dr. Charles Geroux, longtime drama teacher. Fittingly, the film is dedicated to Dr. Geroux’s memory.

Director of Schools Jeff Suzik, members of the Advancement team, and several alumni and parent volunteers attended a screening and waved the CK flag with pride.

Just days earlier, on September 27, Renée made her debut at The Ford in Los Angeles with a one-woman concert that showcased songs from her newly released solo album Who I Really Am along with Broadway and pop favorites. She was cheered on by fellow alumni and close friends Shana Waterman ’90, Glendon Palmer ’89, and Rachel Harris ’89, who reunited with her after the show for congratulations and celebration.

Renée’s growing body of work continues to inspire the Cranbrook community, reminding us all of the lasting impact of creativity, mentorship, and alumni support.
