Russ Conner

50 Years and Still Looking Ahead
Over a remarkable 50-year tenure as a biology teacher with Cranbrook Schools, Russ has prepared generations of professional scientists and physicians, as well as students just grateful to understand the scientific method.
With each summer, the College Board appointed him to ever higher levels of responsibility for the Advanced Placement Biology Test. Wherever his school duties took him, Russ served with his trademark good humor and eye to detail. He has served as the school registrar, manager of the basketball game clock, and co-chair of the Senior May Project Committee, among other duties. Students describe a Russ Conner classroom as a whirlwind of Smartboard slides, quips, probing questions, and life observations. Russ has won many awards for excellence in teaching. Russ has lost none of his love of the classroom and looks forward to the next group of eager faces in the fall.
