Scorching Speed warms up chilly first Track Meet
A beautiful day had turned cloudy, windy and chilly by the time CK team arrived at Lutheran Westland HS, ah Michigan in April. Although it was a challenge to stay warm, our Cranes were plenty excited for the first races of the year.
Highlight Performances:
4x200m - Garrett Powel, Kobi and Daniel Russell, and Aaron Williams won by almost 10 seconds in a tremendous show of team speed.
1600m - Ethan Goldstein had a huge kick to make up deficit on the final lap and win by a nose.
400m - Garrett Powell and Gracey Bennet Carpenter finished first and second by a wide margin in one of Cranbrook's strongest events.
Long Jump - Colin Canning won by a foot. Pretty good, especially considering it is the first time he has competed in the event.
All around leaper Jordan Benson came in 2nd in the 110m and 300m hurdle races and the high jump.
