Cranbrook Schools senior Grant Reuss has had an eventful spring, to say the least.
In addition to graduating with the class of 2014, he was selected in the 31st round of the First Year Major League Baseball Draft by the Detroit Tigers.
“As far as I can tell through my research, he is the first player drafted out of Cranbrook after his senior year of high school,” says Cranbrook Baseball Coach Andy Fairman.
As a junior, the 6-foot-5, 215-pound left-handed pitcher earned Division 2 All-State honors from the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association.
While he is still planning on attending the University of Michigan this fall is, he is eligible to be drafted again by all teams after his junior season.
“The entire baseball program is extremely happy and excited for Grant.This is an amazing accomplishment by an outstanding student-athlete and a wonderful representative of Cranbrook Schools,” says baseball Fairman.
