CK Girls' Lacrosse Dominate ASH

The fans came out in droves for the home game against Sacred Heart, and the CK girls did not disappoint. The first half started off fairly even, but Coby and the CK defense clamped down, with determined performances by Milan Crawford, Molly Laubernds, Darby Stahl and Sarah Jane Post. Within about 10 minutes of the first half, the CK girls took complete control of the game. By the end of the first half they had run the score up to 7-1. Amanda Schimpke and Frannie Gembis were unstoppable, scoring a half dozen goals each. Teammates Julie Rogers, Ari Vespa and Lauren Colburn each added one to the tally. Colleen Jacoby was brilliant in the crease, with 17 saves, stopping several shots that would surely have found the back of the net under any other circumstances. Darby Stahl led the team in ground ball control, using her speed and dexterity to regain control of any loose balls, and mounting furious attacks on the Sacred Heart goal. Tara Chelios made significant contributions at the draw, helping CK seize and maintain control throughout the game. The 15-2 victory was a true team effort, with outstanding performances all around.
