Andy Thelan rushed for 89 yards on 10 carries while Danny Mogill added 98 yards rushing on 5 carries as the Cranes defeated the Lutheran Westland Warriors 30 - 20. Mogill also threw a touchdown pass to Mark Wilhelm and ran for a touchdown as well. Cranbrook took the opening kickoff on their own 35 yard line and drove right down the field to score the first touchdown. Key plays were a 27 yard pass play from Mogill to Wilhelm and a 24 yard touchdown run by Mogill. Ned Rogers made a tackle for loss on third down and the Warriors were forced to punt. The Cranes took over at the Westland 45 and 8 plays later Ondrez Kares ran the ball in for a 4 yard touchdown. Kares added the extra point and the Cranes had a 13 - 0 lead. After another strong defensive series by the Cranes, they took over on the Warriors 40 yard line. It took only 1 play, a 40 yard screen play to Wilhelm for Cranbrook to get back on the board, With the Kares kick the Cranes lead 20 - 0. The Warriors did not pack it in as they scored 2 touchdowns in the second quarter and Cranbrook went into halftime leading 20 - 14. Andrew Colangelo made the play of the game as he recovered a Chris Lopez on-sides kick to give the Cranes the ball at the start of the third quarter. Cranbrook then took the ball right down the field with Thelan scoring a touchdown on a 22 yard trap play. Ondrez Kares finished the scoring by tackling a Warrior runner in the end zone to score a safety. Dan Handley made tackles all over the field as he was in on 7 tackles. Chris Lopez caused and recovered a fumble. Aric Homovec added 5 tackles and Girard Sanford had 4. Matt Birnholz knocked down 2 pasees, one that saved a 2 point conversion attempt. Ben Hamati was in on 4 tackles and had the hit of the game.
