Higbee Gets Shut Out in First Start

The Cranes tied 0-0 in their Metro Conference  opener on Thursday afternoon.  The team defensively played well led by Rosalia Pembroke, Amanda Orley, Francis Whiting, and Sara Saeed who kept Liggett at bay allowing only three shots on goal.  Lexi Higbee was the beneficiary in net for CK registering her first shutout in her first contest.  On offense, the Cranes did everything but put the ball in the back of the net.  They assaulted the Liggett goal keeper with 16 shots on goal and one rocket shot off the foot of Amanda Orley squarely off the crossbar.  The Cranes return to action next Tuesday against highly regarded Madison Heights Lamphere.  The Cranes tied Lamphere 0-0 in regular season play last year and beat them in a shootout during last year’s district playoffs.
