Margi Brown
On March 18, over 40 alumni and guests met at the Cranbrook Art Museum for the special exhibit “Eero Saarinen, Shaping the Future.” Following drinks and hors d’oeuvres in deSalle Auditorium, Mark Coir, Director of Archives, gave a presentation on the Saarinens, Cranbrook’s influential and masterful family. After this enlightening presentation, guests toured the exhibit that examined Eero Saarinen’s wide-ranging career from the 1930s through the early 60s, featuring an international array of buildings, furniture design and master plans for civic centers and universities.
