2006 Alumni Soccer Game

The annual Alumni/Varsity Soccer game was held August 27 and drew 22 alumni to the lower fields on a great day for soccer. A third of the Alumni team was from the class of 2005. And, for the first time, two women played, both from the class of 2005. Prior varsity coaches Mickey Price and Charlie Shaw were in attendence. Also noteable, and possibly without precedence, Bill Holmes, C'79, was defended by his son, Andy, CK'10, and vice versa, during the game. With enough alumni for two teams and getting Alex Liu's, CK'99, and David Cohen's, CK'90, tallies in the first half followed by Bill Holmes's and John Hernandez's, CK'01, tallies in the second, the alumni wore out the younger varsity players for the win. But at the end, it was Jamal Robertson, CK'94, blocking a handful of heavy shots from senior Trent Rook that preserved the shutout.
