Top 40! Sculptors' Drawings from the Collection of Tom, C '52, and Kitty Stoner

On September 15 alumni, staff and friends joined Tom and Kitty Stoner at the Cranbrook Art Museum for the opening of their Top 40! Sculptors’ Drawings From the Collection of Tom and Kitty Stoner exhibition. The evening started with a gathering at the museum where Tom and Kitty talked about their collection. There was then a lovely reception at Milles House before the opening of the exhibit. Tom and Kitty Stoner have an interest in preparatory drawings for exemplary works of 20th century sculpture. Tom Stoner, a 1952 graduate of Cranbrook Schools, and his wife Kitty reside in Annapolis, Maryland. The Stoners have deliberately edited their drawing collection to forty works in emulation of the well-known weekly radio format. Notable drawings from Rodin and Picasso to Donald Judd and Bruce Nauman will be on display until November 5, 2006.
