1st Dual Meet of the Season against Seaholm on September 17th
The Girls Swim Team was dominated by Seaholm's amazing depth in the first dual meet of the season. Hosted by Seaholm at the new Groves pool, the final score was Seaholm 127, Cranbrook 59. Seaholm came out on top in all three relays and won four individual events as well as diving. The three 1st place CK events were the 200 I.M. (Rachel Dekar), the 100 Back (Maeve McHugh) and the 100 Breast (Rachel Dekar). Maeve McHugh placed second in the 100 Free, Joanie Burton placed 3rd in the 50 Free and the 100 Fly and Brie Sherer placed third in the 100 Back. Strong, solid dives were performed by freshmen Leigh Grinberg and Sterling Kaiser. Elizabeth Lafontaine had personal best times in the 200 and 500 Free. Kudos go to Maureen Ryan who was given the "Kick Board" award for a nineteen second drop in the 500 Free! Great effort girls!!
