Girls beat Ladywood 4-3. Wow!!!

Some games are big... and all the key players really needed to show up for this one. The girls were really looking forward to this game and showed up huge! The first period was all Ladywood. Audrey had a nice breakaway goalie stopped the shot and Dani just missed the rebound. LW controlled most of the play, outshot our girls 16-3 but didnt score! Way to go LaGrasso! 0-0 after 1. Ariel then stepped up in the second. Ariel started the scoring on a PP after a flurry of CK shots Ariel picked up the loose puck at the side of the net and fired it in between the pads and post short side 1-0. Audrey and Kelsey got the assists. Moments later, again on the PP Ariel fed Kelsey Goin in the high slot, who fired the beautiful slapshot to the back of the net, 2-0. Audrey also on the assist. Ladywood got one back at the end of the period on the PP punching in a rebound at the end of the second 2-1. The third started with Ladywood attacking. Ariel counterattacked and hit the crossbar and things looked bad until Ariel won a face off to Carolyn who fired a shot and Dani in perfect position hammered home the rebound 3-1. LW's Prenella Semma answered immediately with a pair of beautiful stickhandling goals 3-3. Momentum was all LW and they went on the PP. LW shot one off the post but CK held them off and as the penalty expired Audrey grabbed a turnover at her own blue line... deke, deke backhand goal! 4-3. LaGrasso stopped 30 of 33 LW shots, many of them point blank.
