CK FH beats Edsel Ford 1-0!

We were tied 0-0 at the half.  Then our chance came when Wheaties Calangelo took a pass from Ann Marie Skylis to put us ahead for good.  Another win for the team! 1-0 Way to go CK!

It was a beautiful day for field hockey.  Sunny and not too warm.  The field was...  well, the field was like playing in a parking lot that just happened to have grass.  No matter, we used it to our advantage.  Taking a page out of a basketball play book, we sent long pass after long pass to Wheaties who was assigned the cherry pickers spot.  This forced the Thunderbirds to keep one player glued on Dani.... and away from everyone else.  Samar, Catherine, Ann Marie and Nana supplied amazing mid field support that kept the ball down at the Thunderbird's end of the field for the majority of the second half.  The 2 man D-line and our amazing goalie Candice Ammori achieved yet another shut-out. Not to be left out, the forwards worked their magic passing the ball all around and picking up the power passes on the run.  It did not seem to matter how hard the passes were to Audrey, she stopped them or re-directed them and carried them into the circle for a shot on goal or a perfect set-up for a team mate to take a shot.  Their goalie met almost every challenge - except for one.  That was all it took to put us ahead for good.  What a remarkable team!
