Exploring Cranbrook Kingswood with the GMS

Students in the Exploring Cranbrook Kingswood class at the Girls Middle School had the opportunity to tour campus with their instructors Loren Roumell ’99 and Shannon Howell Johnson ’00, touring seven different campus buildings and doing a deep dive into four different campus landscapes that included Kingswood Lake and Japanese Garden, the Cranbrook Quad and Mini Golf at Cranbrook Art Museum. The students finished their semester with a study of the different flags of Cranbrook with Center for Collections and Research curator Kevin Adkisson, who also led many of their tours.

Click here to view the PowerPoint presentation the students created to share with their Kingswood alumni pen pals, with whom they have corresponded over the course of the semester. The PowerPoint contains many of the facts the students found most interesting. Did you know the study of flags is called Vexillology?
