Freedom House

Cranbrook Kingswood students have the opportunity to visit Freedom House each year with the International Student Life program to teach ESL and volunteer their time and efforts.

Freedom House is a shelter for refugees who are seeking asylum in the U.S. and Canada. The work CK students do at Freedom House exposes them to other cultures and walks of life and teaches them the importance of dedicating time to philanthropic activities. Teaching ESL to people from other countries also challenges our students to explore their teaching and leadership skills while crystallizing their connection with the English language.
