As Cranbrook Schools undertakes the critical work of rising to the challenges of both the present and the future, while preserving all that has been most meaningful and successful throughout its long and storied institutional history, it is essential that we continue to build stronger and more open partnerships with key constituents of our community, especially our current families. In support of this, the 2024-2025 academic year marked the return of the Cranbrook Schools “State of the Schools” address, a community gathering open to all families, faculty, and staff of the Cranbrook community and hosted by the Director of Schools and Assistant Director of Schools.
The report is organized into the following sections, purposefully arranged to build on one another so to provide not only awareness but also context for our current strategic initiatives:
- “The Why”
- What is Past is Prologue: The Booth Legacy and Cranbrook Today
- Mission and Vision: Who We Are, What We Do, and Why We Do It
- All-Schools Committee Work Already Underway
- Strategic Planning and Emerging Priorities for the Next Three-to-Five Years
- What to Expect in 2025
As it should, our strategic planning process will be singularly focused on improving the student experience at Cranbrook Schools and on ensuring that we make good on our commitment to providing our students, current and future, with everything they need and deserve in order to both thrive in and personally shape our complex world. This is our institutional North Star, and we are thrilled to have you on this journey with us!
Sincerely,
Jeff Suzik, Ph.D., Director of Cranbrook Schools
Zaineb Hussain, Assistant Director of Schools/Chief Academic Officer
