Ethics Bowl Team Competes in First Competition

Cranbrook's inaugural Ethics Bowl team traveled to St. Ignatius Academy in Chicago to compete in their first competition this weekend.

Ethics Bowl is an activity where teams try to reach consensus on moral dilemma cases through polite discussion rather than crushing one's opponent's arguments.

Cranbrook teamed up with students from our neighbors at Sacred Heart Academy. Sacred Heart has competed in Ethics Bowl previously, and they have been mentoring our students. At this competition, teams were allowed to mix students from different schools. Cranbrook had two students on each team and Sacred Heart had two students on each team.  It was an excellent learning experience.

Cranbrook was represented by Peter Johnson '27, Ryan Zhu '26, Jay Lee '26 and Chloe Kim '26.

Congratulations goes to Peter Johnson for winning the "Walking Encyclopedia" award.

“Thank Yous” go to Mr. Serge Danielson-Francois from Sacred Heart for introducing CK to this activity and for leading our workshopping sessions to prepare for the competitions as well as to Anna Bryant.

The state regional meet will be February 3rd and 4th.

Well done students!
