Battling Mercy

The spicy matchup with Mercy wasn’t just between players on the ice, Mercy’s coach was removed  & refs made mysterious calls. Cranbrook had their complete line up on the bench, welcoming back Captain Anna Timko✨ Goalie, Mira Norton held the team strong making immaculate saves when the pressure was on & skaters crowded the goal.  Shots on were 26-24, with each battle for the puck a dire fight✨

Forward wings battled along the boards, centers made rushes to the net with numerous chances at the net.  The defense not only held the blue line, made rushes to the net & protected Norton in goal🏒

During the 2nd period, Mercy scored 2 goals, however Canes never gave up!  At 6:32 in the 3rd, Phoebe Knoer while holding the blue line, got the puck & wound up for her slap shot.  It wizzed through the crowed interference and sank into the back of the net🏒

CK will meet up with Mercy again on the 20th @ the Mid-Michigan showcase in Bay City⚡️
