Close Call in Ann Arbor

Leah Faraj
Coming off of their first win, the girls were excited to take on the historically and notoriously skillful Ann Arbor Pioneers. The girls played phenomenally in the first half, holding off the Pioneers to a 0-0 gridlock. Freshmen Peyton Messner and Grace Grandelius aggressively carried the ball up the field, and Jackie Shamie swept away the ball saving nearly three Pioneer goals! A heartbreaking Ann Arbor goal and an unfinished CK corner ended the game in a 0-1 loss. The girls held their opponents tight and played tough. Shout out to goalie Robin Goldman who we were able to bribe in net for a second game and played like a rock star. Your fitness, teamwork, and stick skills are improving every game, girls! Keep working hard! Go CK!
