Senior News: Common Application
The new version of the Common Application debuted August 1, and there have been some challenges. Students report difficulty logging into the system; other say they are exited from the system and have to reenter the Web site several times; others say they are having trouble cutting and pasting essays into Common App.
Common App has sent an announcement out addressing two important points:
- The introduction of a brand new Web platform always has challenges, but Common App expects to solve these challenges soon.
- If you have trouble of any kind, you should contact Common App right away to let them know about it.
- Many colleges do not have their supplemental essays or questions ready, and some will not have them ready until August 18. Please be patient.
It’s important to remember that no college on the Common Application has an admissions deadline in August, so there’s plenty of time to submit your application.
