CK Names New Swim Coaches

CK Appoints Chris Bagley as Head Girls Swim Coach and Monica Johnson as Assistant!
Cranbrook Kingswood is proud to announce that Chris Bagley will be the new girls head swim coach.  Chris is no stranger to the area, as he won a State Championship at Birmingham Brother Rice.  Chris went on to swim at Denison University that saw him earn 16 All-American swimming awards, along with 9 individual/relay titles.  Chris began his coaching career at Orchard Lake Country Club. Chris has also coached as age groups in Newark, Ohio.  Recently Chris has taken over the the Bloomfield Hills Swim and Tennis Club (formerly the Surf Club).  Chris is a self-proclaimed "swim geek" and looks forward to continuing the strong traditions that the Cranbrook Swim team upholds.  Chris states that he "looks forward growing as a coach and helping CK swimmers grow in and out of the pool."  Chris will also be the boys assistant coach in the winter.

Joining Chris on the pool deck as his assistant will be Monica Johnson, who is no stranger to Cranbrook students, as she's currently a third grade teacher entering her 9th year at Brookside.  Monica brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team; she was an assistant at Seaholm for the past 11 years for both the boys and girls programs.  Monica is also a coach at the highly successful Forest Hills Swim Club for the past 13 years. Monica states, "I am looking forward to coaching at Cranbrook and hopefully to see some of my former students on the swim team...I can't wait to get to know the swimmers, and I look forward to a successful season."

Please welcome Chris and Monica to the CK coaching family!
