Mentors Needed for the CKAA Career Fair January 28

With juniors and seniors already registering for the annual CKAA Career Fair, alumni mentors are needed to serve at one of the most anticipated events of the year for students beginning to navigate decisions about colleges, majors, and internships.

Sponsored each year by the Cranbrook Kingswood Alumni Association, the Career Fair brings alumni and students together for an evening of thoughtful, student-led conversation. Juniors and seniors arrive prepared with questions and a genuine desire to learn—seeking insight into career paths, college experiences, professional pivots, and the realities of life beyond Cranbrook. Students consistently note how much they value the opportunity to speak directly with alumni and how seriously they approach these conversations.

The Career Fair is a highlight of the academic year for forward-thinking students, many of whom are already weighing important choices about their futures. Alumni mentors play a critical role by sharing perspective, offering encouragement, and helping students see the many paths a Cranbrook education can lead to.
This year’s mentor roster already reflects the remarkable breadth of the CK alumni community, with participants representing a wide range of class years, industries, and professional experiences.

Alumni are traveling from near and far to take part—including several coming from Chicago—demonstrating the strong commitment graduates continue to show for today’s students.

The Career Fair also plays an important role in supporting Senior May Projects, a defining capstone experience at Cranbrook Kingswood. Nearly all seniors aspire to complete a Senior May Project, spending the final weeks before graduation immersed in internships or independent projects aligned with their interests. This year’s Senior May Project dates are May 11–29, and alumni-supported opportunities remain essential to the program’s success. While many projects take place locally, Senior May Projects in other cities may also be possible depending on the opportunity and individual circumstances.
