Trooper Sanders '91 addresses students at Model UN Conference

On Saturday, October 12, the Upper School hosted over 130 Model United Nations students from Cranbrook and nearby International Academy for a day of learning and parliamentary debate at the Model UN IA-CK Conference (“MUNIACK”). To kick off the day, Trooper Sanders ’91, a Model UN student during his time at Cranbrook, now working at the intersection of AI, policy, and the public interest, spoke via Teams with everyone in attendance about the role that AI is currently playing and may play in global relations and policy.

After Trooper’s opening remarks, students from both schools launched into an engaging program with researched and informed debate on contemporary global issues, and celebrated the news that the Cranbrook UNICEF Club exceeded its fundraising goal held in partnership with the Conference, with funds supporting UNICEF’s efforts in weather disaster relief.

From start to finish, the day was marked by thoughtful debate, cooperation, and excitement among students.
