Class of 1975 Raises the Bar on Reunion Giving and Engagement

The Class of 1975 marked its 50th reunion this June with impressive momentum on two fronts: bringing classmates back to campus and setting a bold example of philanthropic leadership.

Thanks to the sustained outreach of a dedicated committee, the class achieved strong attendance, drawing alumni from near and far—including some who had not been back to campus since graduation. The committee’s efforts reflected a broad, inclusive approach to outreach, helping to create a meaningful and well-attended celebration of shared history and renewed connection.

Equally noteworthy was the class’s approach to reunion giving. Their committee set an ambitious goal of raising $500,000 —the highest fundraising target ever established by a milestone reunion class. Their strategy combined peer-to-peer with CK'75 donors generating two significant matching gift challenges totaling $250,000. Those efforts helped drive strong participation and generated record-setting reunion giving to The Cranbrook Schools Fund.

With the close of the fiscal year approaching, the class is well positioned to meet—and likely exceed—its ambitious 50th reunion goal. Gifts are still coming in, and the momentum from the reunion weekend has made the final stretch feel well within reach.

As Director of Schools Dr. Jeff Suzik noted at their class dinner, this success builds on decades of loyal support:
“Your class set an audacious and inspiring goal for your 50th Reunion—and it’s been amazing to watch that vision coming to fruition. It’s an extraordinary achievement—not just in numbers, but in what it represents: your enduring connection to this place, and your belief in the value of a Cranbrook education.”
The Class of 1975’s coordinated efforts in both participation and philanthropy offer a strong example for future milestone classes. Their results underscore the impact of thoughtful planning, consistent outreach, and a shared commitment to supporting the continued excellence of Cranbrook Schools. Many thanks to CK'75 for setting a new benchmark for what reunion engagement can accomplish.
