Winter of Champions II: CK Students Distinguish Themselves across Wide Range of Endeavors
For the second year in a row, the Cranbrook Schools community can look back at what was truly a “Winter of Champions.”
CK students were recognized on the state and national level for athletics, science, mathematics, and more. Their remarkable achievements include:
Boys Varsity Swimming “three-peated” as State Champions!
Boys Varsity Hockey were MHSAA Region 24 Champions and state Runner-Up
Cranbrook had Two Class-A MHSAA Scholar-Athletes and four MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Finalists
The Upper School student newspaper, The Crane-Clarion, was awarded a Silver Crown by The Columbia Scholastic Press Association. Multiple student journalist were individually recognized at the national level.
A Cranbrook Schools student has been named a Debate Academic All American by the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) marking the seventh year in a row that a Cranbrook student has been recognized with the honor.
Cranbrook’s Debate team swept the Michigan District debate Tournament competition, and both of Michigan's representatives to the National Speech and Debate National (MSDA) Tournament this June will be from Cranbrook Schools.
A record five Cranbrook teams have qualified for the NDSA Tournament of Champions this April.
Cranbrook chess teams finished third and fourth in the state at the Michigan High School Team Chess Championship
Four students presented at the 61st Annual Junior Science and Humanities Symposium
Eleven Cranbrook teams qualified for the VEX High School Robotics State Championship
Three Cranbrook teams qualified for the VEX Robotics World Championship
Cranbrook students took the top four spots plus the overall win in the Kettering University “Bulldog Battles” competitive coding challenge.
Two students qualified for the USA Math Olympiad
A four-student team has been named a finalist for the HiMCM (High School Mathematical Contest in Modeling) competition, one of the largest and most prestigious math modeling contests for high school students.
