CKAA Hosts Tech Industry Career Mentoring & Networking Event February 25
On Tuesday, February 25, the Cranbrook Kingswood Alumni Association (CKAA) is hosting a Tech Industry Career Mentoring & Networking Event from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at TechTown Detroit. The event will begin with a panel featuring local industry experts, followed by a networking session for professionals from all levels of experience.

For industry veterans, it will be a chance to share expertise, mentor the next generation of tech professionals, and expand your own professional network. For alumni who are launching new careers in fields such as web development, information technology, cybersecurity, AI, or machine learning it is a chance to connect with industry experts and learn more about area opportunities.
The event will be held in collaboration with alumni from Cranbrook, Detroit Country Day School, and Roeper, and will provide a unique opportunity for all.
A highlight of the evening will be a panel discussion featuring industry alumni from each of the schools, including Phyllip Hall ’84, a veteran technology consultant, software developer, and entrepreneur. Hall, who began his career with IBM after earning a degree in computer science from the University of Michigan, has spent decades developing software solutions for education and social services. He is now launching The App Factory, an innovative software development platform set to debut in Spring 2025.
Ian Perkins ’05 will moderate the discussion, bringing insights from his role as a Team Leader at Rocket Mortgage, where he oversees professional training initiatives.
At this event, the CKAA has set a goal to bring together entry-level professionals and seasoned industry leaders for an evening of networking, career growth, and meaningful connections.
