Bill Hancock Wins Gramenz Award

William “Bill” Hancock, Senior Associate Dean of College Counseling and Assistant House Advisor, has just been awarded the Gramenz Award from the Michigan Association for College Admission Counseling (MACAC).

The MACAC instituted the Gramenz Award in 1977 to commemorate William Gramenz, the former Director of Admissions at the University of Michigan-Flint. It represents the highest level of recognition in the MACAC and is awarded to individuals who provide exceptional service to their students, colleagues, and profession as a whole.

Hancock’s service to the Cranbrook community has encompassed several different roles since his entrance in 1998. Serving for six years as Dean of College Counseling, he then moved into service as Associate Dean and later Acting Dean of College Counseling during Cranbrook’s search for a new dean to serve in the upcoming school year. Hancock has also served as Head House Advisor of the Boys’ Dorm, and has now stepped into a new role as Assistant house Advisor. For these and other exceptional services to the community, Hancock received the President’s Award for Excellence in 2012, one of Cranbrook's highest recognition awards.
