Cranbrook Schools senior Lewen Feng has been named the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) Michigan Debater of the Year. To win this award, Lewen was nominated and an essay submitted to the Michigan Debate Chair. His nominations was then sent to the national office of the NSDA in Iowa.
Cranbrook Schools has a remarkable record in competitive debate, with eighteen students named Debate Academic All-Americans in the modern era.
Lewen is the first CK debater to win this award. He will join former CK Debaters Alex Wang ’25 and Ori Shi’25 at Harvard University next fall.
