Chief of Staff for Richard Blumenthal
Laurie has been chief of staff to U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal since he was elected in 2010 to represent Connecticut. Prior, she was vice president for public policy at Planned Parenthood Federation of America where she oversaw federal, state and international policy, national politics, law and litigation. She was legislative director to Sen. Hillary Clinton from 2005-2008 and legislative assistant to Sen. John H. Chafee for nine years. Laurie also launched the health care program at the New America Foundation and was vice president at the National Partnership for Women and Families. She is an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Law Center.
