Future Health Professionals Experience the Science of Cancer Research, Trials, and Treatment.

This fall the Cranbrook Future Health Professionals Club visited the Detroit Karmanos Cancer Institute for a first-hand look at cancer research and treatments. Activities included visiting a lab focused on leukemia, a presentation on Radiation Oncology, and a presentation on MRI machines.

Students got to see how the Karmanos Center functions as a place for research, clinical trials, and patient treatment all the same time. They learned how medicine involves a background in both biology and physics to create highly precise machines.
