Cranbrook Students Set School Record for Scholastic Art Awards

The Cranbrook Kingswood Upper School Fine Arts Department has had a record breaking showing in this year’s Scholastic Arts competition.

The Southeast Michigan & Thumb 2026 Scholastic Art Awards bestowed the students with 96 total awards including 92 individual awards, 3 portfolio awards, and an American Visions Nominee.

The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is the nation’s longest running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens. The American Visions Award is a highly prestigious honor that represents the different geographic regions of the Scholastic Awards.

The students will be recognized at the Scholastic Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the historic Detroit Film Theatre. The regional exhibit also opens that same night directly across the street at College for Creative Studies. Gold Key awarded work will automatically be entered into the national competition. The Alliance will be announcing National Medalists on Wednesday, March 25.  Each student will receive Gold and Silver Key pins, as well as a certificate for each award received.
