Refurbished Dining Hall Causes Matt Kimbrough '70 to Burst into Song

We were delighted to welcome actor Matthew Kimbrough ’70 back to Cranbrook Kingswood with his wife Margery. At Cranbrook, Matt was a performing arts standout and has made his career with work on stage and screen. He was one of our first alumni to catch a glimpse of the newly refinished Cranbrook Dining Hall floors and walls and the beautiful sight caused him to burst into song!

Over the course of a career spanning more than four decades, Kimbrough has worked extensively in film, television, and theater, with credits including Catch Me If You Can, Erin Brockovich, American Beauty, Mad Men, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Wildcat, along with numerous acclaimed stage productions.

Now a class agent for the Class of 1970, Kimbrough continues to stay connected to the Cranbrook Kingswood community. We’re grateful he took the time to return to revisit the place where his own creative journey began, and we're grateful to all of our donors to The Cranbrook Schools Fund who helped make the dining hall restoration possible!
