This winter’s TEDxCranbrookSchools event brought together alumni, students, faculty, and guests for an evening of ideas, storytelling, and thoughtful conversation—organized entirely by Cranbrook’s student-led TEDx club. Among the featured speakers was Steven Wang ’20, founder of the investing platform dub, who shared reflections on entrepreneurship, innovation, and building in today’s rapidly changing digital economy.
Wang also spent time with students earlier in the day, including a visit to Dr. Chris Schotten’s AP Macroeconomics class, where he connected classroom concepts to real-world markets, technology, and investor behavior.
The event also featured keynote speaker Chuck Garcia, Columbia University professor and former Bloomberg executive, alongside student speakers Oscar Shelton, Ava Phipps, Hana Vala, and Michelle Xu, each delivering original talks centered on TED’s theme of “Ideas Worth Spreading.”
Video recordings of the talks are now available online. Use the links to watch:
The TEDxCranbrookSchools program continues to provide students with opportunities not only to share ideas publicly, but also to develop skills in leadership, event production, public speaking, and collaboration.
