Celebrating Our 2026 Distinguished Alumni: Molly Miller Jahn '76 and Mark Davidson '86

Both honorees returned to campus to share reflections on the experiences that helped shape their lives and careers. Jahn, an internationally recognized scientist, educator, and government research leader, delivered the keynote address at the Kingswood Commencement Ceremony. Davidson, a former CIA operations officer and intelligence executive, served as keynote speaker for the Cranbrook Commencement Ceremony.

Although their professional paths have been very different, both spoke about the important role Cranbrook played in fostering curiosity, resilience, and a willingness to pursue ambitious goals. Davidson challenged graduates to embrace difficult challenges and resist the temptation to choose the easiest path, reminding students that growth often comes from stepping into the unknown. Jahn reflected on the curiosity, creativity, and spirit of exploration that were nurtured during her years at Cranbrook and how those experiences prepared her for a career dedicated to solving complex problems.

The celebration continued during Reunion Weekend as Jahn and Davidson were formally recognized at the Distinguished Alumni Assembly and Award Presentation in Kingswood Auditorium.

There was a strong turnout from members of the Classes of 1976 and 1986 when Molly and Mark were presented with their Distinguished Alumni Awards. One of the highlights of the weekend was seeing classmates share in the celebration and take such pride in the accomplishments of two of their own.

The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes graduates whose achievements, leadership, and service embody the values of Cranbrook Schools. Through careers dedicated to discovery, service, and solving complex challenges, Molly Miller Jahn '76 and Mark Davidson '86 exemplify the many ways Cranbrook alumni continue to make an impact in the world.
