The most recent tour of regional alumni to happen across the country took place throughout November, bringing out alumni in Chicago, Greenwich, CT and NYC. On Thursday, November 14, over fifty Cranbrook and Kingswood alumni met at Osteria Via Stato in the River North neighborhood of Chicago for socializing, networking and reminiscing. Cranbrook Educational Community President, AC Roche welcomed guests and Director of Schools, Dr. Jeff Suzik provided remarks and an update on Cranbrook Schools today. Jim Akers ’57 who was in attendance shared stories of his days at Cranbrook with the attendees and Chicago CRAN ambassadors Avery Kerr Gordon ’03 and Eric Rothfeder ’98 were also in attendance and ready to make plans for the next Chicago alumni events in the coming year.
The following week Cranbrook Schools events were held back-to-back starting on Tuesday, November 19
at the C. Parker Gallery in Greenwich, CT.
Tiffany Jerome Benincasa ’89 owner and gallerist of the space invited roughly thirty alumni into her gallery to share her current collection. Both she and
Sally Christiansen Harris ’72 did a phenomenal job planning the event and the intimate setting allowed a great opportunity for alumni to connect with one another. The following day on Wednesday, November 20 the NY Cranbrook Regional Alumni Network (CRAN) gathering took place at The Empire Hotel located on the Upper West Side. The enclosed rooftop space offered the eighty + alumni in attendance amazing views of Lincoln Center. NY CRAN representatives
Amber Dawkins ’97,
George Tepe ’10,
Austen Hohendorf ’09,
Rachel Kovan ’13,
Carmen Chan ’18, and
Joe Cybulski ’07 worked hard to promote the event and get alumni to come out and they did not disappoint! The evening’s attendees represented Cranbrook and Kingswood alums spanning across generations; from the Class of 1961 all the way to 2024! As always, the event offered alumni a fun opportunity to socialize and network with others from Cranbrook Schools and encourage their future involvement in their regional community. If you or someone you know might be interested in becoming more involved in their local alumni community, please contact us at
