"Cranbrook was like a third parent for me...
adding invaluable lessons that were unavailable at home. I'll be eternally grateful to the men and women who taught me to write and to think critically, but who also made me more aware of manners, grace, beauty, and grit. It's tempting to dwell on the superb academic experience that Cranbrook provided, but there was so much more. The meticulously kept garden beds, the Saarinen architecture, the Milles sculptures, and the wooded pathways around the 360-acre C-K campus etched in my soul an enduring appreciation for beauty. Until the day that they died, I thanked my biological parents for their gifts of life and love; and until the day that I die, my gifts to the Annual Fund will be an expression of gratitude to my adoptive parent, Cranbrook, for teaching me to aim high and for opening my mind and heart to the world's possibilities."
