Laurie Bossory

Class of 2005
Cardiologist, Advocate for Humanistic Medicine
Dr. Laurie Bossory ’05 left an indelible mark on Cranbrook as a scholar, leader, and three-sport athlete. A boarding student and Faculty Senior Award recipient, she served as senior class vice president, Gold Key President, and captain of the basketball and soccer teams. She also played hockey for three years, performed in jazz and symphony band as an alto saxophonist, and was a member of the Cum Laude Society. Known for her drive and humility, she was named Female Athlete of the Year and honored with the Kingswood Sweater. After graduating from Northwestern University and earning her M.D. from Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, Bossory was recognized with the Robyn D. Howson Housestaff Humanism Award for her compassion and communication with patients and families. Now a practicing cardiologist in Ypsilanti, Michigan, she specializes in treating heart failure and coronary artery disease—combining clinical excellence with the empathy that has defined her path since her earliest days at Cranbrook.
