Cranes wrap up Season with Runner -Up Finish at States

Coach Minnich
The Lady Crane golfers wrapped up the 2025 Golf Season with a trip to the State Tournament.
The 2-day 36 hole tournament was played at the 5267 yard / Par 72 Bedford Valley GC located in Battle Creek.
The Cranes and Dexter went back and forth with the lead in round 1 as both teams struggled to make any putts on the undulating and tricky putting surfaces. When the round concluded Dexter had jumped ahead to a
6-stroke lead (330 -336.)
Round 2 began with the threat of afternoon thunderstorms and tee times were moved up 1 hour
(9:00 am from 10:00am) in hopes of avoiding possible delay or cancellation of the round.
The Cranes had a steady start to the round but quickly found themselves 13 shots back as Dexter’s
Manning sisters played their 1st 5 holes a combined 3 - under par. Cranbrook rallied mid round to cut the lead
to 7 strokes but that was as close as they got as Dexter pulled away to a (313 -323 round 2 win and a
16 stroke victory over the Cranes (643-659). Forest Hills Central and Lowell (684) tied for 3rd - 25 stokes behind the Cranbrook squad.
Sophomore Sixtine Charnelet (78-74) led the way for the Cranes and finished 2nd Individually in the 108 player field earning the Silver Medal.
Seniors Sydney Behnke (78-87) & Alina Yuan (89-96) and Juniors Brianna Giudici (91-80) & Josie VandenHaute (93-82) wrapped up the team scoring.
Congratulations on an outstanding season !
