Brookside Celebrates 28th Annual Science Day

Recently, Brookside Lower School celebrated its 28th annual Brookside Science Day with a slate of student experiences that ranged from experiments with electromagnetic fields to encounters with a horse.

The event is an exciting part of the elementary school’s science curriculum, and is designed to foster an even greater enthusiasm for science among young students. It also allows parents a unique opportunity to offer their expertise in the sciences by serving as presenters at the event. This year, 35 parents presented on topics in the physical, environmental, and life science disciplines.

“We are deeply grateful to all of our parent volunteers who made the day such a success, and so exciting for the students,” said Lower School Science Teacher Peter Charney.

The event takes place each October, and includes all students from Pre-kindergarten through grade 5. Other enrichment opportunities for Cranbrook’s youngest students include planed visits to Cranbrook Institute of Science, located nearby on campus.
