CK scored early and often against an overmatched Lutheran Westland team. The Cranes put up 9 runs in the second inning, sending 17 batters to the plate. Jared Scherrer and Brad Fraser drove in 2 runs apiece. Three CK pitchers combined to 1-hit LWHS, with Evan Homovec (2 innings, 5 K's), Joey Labovitz (2 innings, 3 K's), and Charlie Callis (3 innings, 5 K's) contributing strong performances. The team had a no-hitter going until a Westland batter ended the streak in the bottom of the 7th on a solid shot to the outfield.

Lutheran Westland couldn't get anything going so long as Charlie Callis was on the hill. Lutheran Westland managed just one hit off of the Cranbrook Kingswood's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his three innings of work.

Evan Homovec got the win for Cranbrook Kingswood. He tossed two innings of shutout ball. The Cranbrook Kingswood pitcher struck out five, walked one and surrendered no hits.
