CK Girls Soccer Defeats Oakland Christian

After a tough game the day before, the Cranbrook Girls Soccer team came out with energy this morning despite the hot weather and beat Oakland Christian on their field 5-1. The Cranes scored three early goals in the first half: the first made by freshman Katie Payne assisted by junior Madison Romney, the second by senior captain Eva Heidingsfelder assisted by freshman Sydney Shuert, and the third by Payne assisted again by Romney. Cranbrook kept this lead until halftime, at which the score was 3-0. In the second half, Payne scored another early goal, assisted by freshman Dee Dee Morrow. However, Oakland Christian was able to a goal off of a corner kick a while afterwards. The last goal of the game was made by senior captain Ro Pembroke, who as a defender took the shot past half field and put it past the opposing goalie. Great game ladies!
