While writer Brett Berk ’87 was in Detroit covering the auto show for the New York Times, he spent time on campus mentoring upper school writers.
Berk had lunch with editors from the Crane Clarion, and shared stories and anecdotes about his career as a journalist with students from Mike German’s “Creative Nonfiction” class. Berk provided great advice and ideas for the class as they approached a memoir writing assignment. German also observed Berk's special flair for engaging his audience with personal anecdotes, saying, “ [He] had them eating out of [his] hand with the story about riding with DJ Khalid.”
