Two CK Seniors Named Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholars

Not one but two Cranbrook students have been named 2026 Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholars.

Haodong Wei ’26 was recognized for his project “LLM-Powered, Chain of Action (CoA)-Based, Multi-Agent Collaboration for Hexapod-Drone Systems,” and Shaohuan Zhang ’26 for “Generalizations of the Zesting Construction”

For even a single student from a school to be recognized is remarkable, as the honor places the student among the top 300 STEM students in the United States.

The contest is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors. Over 2,600 students applied this year from 826 high schools across 46 states, Washington, D.C., Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and 16 countries.

The Regeneron Science Talent Search provides students a national stage to present original research and celebrates the hard work and novel discoveries of young scientists who “are bringing a fresh perspective to significant global challenges.”

Scholars were chosen based on their outstanding research, leadership skills, community involvement, commitment to academics, creativity in asking scientific questions and exceptional promise as STEM leaders demonstrated through the submission of their original, independent research projects, essays and recommendations.

Congratulations to both students on an incredible achievement.
