Kenta Suzuki

Class of 2022
Mathematician, Morgan Prize Winner
Kenta Suzuki ’22 is a rising scholar in the field of mathematics and the 2025 recipient of the Frank and Brennie Morgan Prize, one of the most prestigious undergraduate math awards in the world. Now an undergraduate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Suzuki has authored and coauthored six research papers advancing the representation theory of p-adic groups, including two solo works noted for their originality and depth. At Cranbrook, he was recognized for both his academic and athletic achievements: he was a dedicated member of the cross country and track and field teams and was honored with the David Knights Math Award for exceptional promise in mathematics. Suzuki credits his Cranbrook experience—and especially teacher Colin Hinde—with kindling his passion for math and encouraging him to explore complex ideas with confidence. He left Cranbrook a year early to attend MIT, where he continues to thrive in a vibrant academic community, mentored by some of the leading figures in modern mathematics. With his curiosity and clarity of thought, he is already shaping the future of theoretical mathematics.
