CK Grads Enter Top Military Academies

Three 2018 graduates have recently enlisted in three of the five military service academies across the nation.

Acceptance rates at each academy are very low, making it quite difficult for students to gain admission. Additionally, to be accepted into any service academy except for the Coast Guard Academy, a candidate must first be nominated to the school by either a U.S. senator, a U.S. representative, or the vice president of the U.S. (who can nominate applicants to any academy except the Merchant Marine Academy).

2018 marks one of the only years that graduating seniors have been accepted into all three of these service academies.

Patrick Baker is now attending the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. He joins the program alongside a mere 9% of applicants.

Samantha “Sammi” Chinn has joined the United States Military Academy (West Point) in West Point, New York. She was accepted into the Academy as part of their 10% acceptance rate.

Davis Schiller was accepted into the United States Air Force Academy in El Paso County, Colorado. He has joined the institution after gaining admission into the program that accepts only 12.3% of its applicants.

Cranbrook is very proud of these alumni and congratulates them on their impressive acceptances to these academies. We wish them all well in their studies and future careers!
