The young authors and artists who contributed to last year's publication of Gallimaufry 2017 have received astounding recognition for their collected works. Their writing, art, and design has been recognized as exceptionally high quality by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA), and as such, CK's publication has received a Gold Crown Award.

Founded in 1925, the CSPA is an international student press association that seeks to bring student writers and journalists in communication with faculty advisers who serve at colleges and universities. This communication is fostered through educational conferences, idea exchanges, textbooks, critiques, and award programs.

The CSPA awards various levels of recognition to student publications, but Crown Awards are notably the highest level of recognition that a student print or digital medium can earn. The award process is all-inclusive when it comes to apprasing the students' work, and incorporates a review of the student publication's concept, coverage, design, photography, and writing. Although there is no set limit of Crown Awards that are given each year, publications who receive this recognition are few and far between. CK's Gallimaufry 2017 is a big part of a small selection of Crown Awarded publications.
